Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Project Details

In July 2011, the City of Malibu completed the installation and upgrades of three new electric vehicle charging stations on Civic Center Way, between Webb Way and Cross Creek Road. In keeping with the City's commitment to create a more energy-efficient community and to reduce its carbon footprint, charging stations are available to the public free of charge, 24 hours a day.

Located in the Malibu Civic Center area, the charging stations are compatible with new models of electric vehicles, such as the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf, as well as older models like the Toyota Rav4 EV.

Charging Stations

The City originally installed two electric vehicle charging stations in 2000. The upgrades to the two existing charging stations, as well as the installation of an additional charging station, were made possible in part by funding from Clipper Creek and the California Energy Commission.
