ASSEMBLY BILL 2234
Effective January 1, 2024, AB 2234 requires local jurisdictions to make available on their websites the requirements for any post-entitlement phase permit (including building permits or demolition permits) for projects that are majority or entirely residential. Information required to be posted includes required submission materials for at least five types of housing projects. The following information is provided for transparency for residential development post-entitlement processing.
POST-ENTITLEMENT REQUIREMENTS
Prior to issuance of a permit for construction, plans must be prepared by a licensed design professional and submitted to the City and reviewed for compliance with zoning regulations and California Building Codes. The type of plans required and the level of detail will depend upon the scope of work proposed. Submit your request for Plan Check review through the online portal. Staff will review your submittal for completeness. An email will be sent to the applicant with an invoice for plan check fees and payment instructions. Your project will be processed for review when payment is received.
Fees are based on the extent of the construction project, such as size of new / modified area and amount of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work. City fees can be reviewed on the current fiscal year Fee Schedule.
