As part of the City of Malibu’s efforts to offer support and resources to residents impacted by the devastating Woolsey Fire, the Community Services and Environmental Sustainability Departments have created a series of Resiliency Programs throughout the year to help strengthen the community, foster healing, and build a more resilient, sustainable community.
Not all of the rebuilding of Malibu following the Woolsey Fire consists of bricks and concrete. Hearts and minds have to heal as well. The Community Services programs include various workshops about dealing with trauma, incorporating innovative forms of therapy such as art, music, yoga and meditation. They focus on topics ranging from mental health to financial recovery, and are listed on the new dedicated webpage at MalibuCity.org/ResiliencyPrograms. The Environmental Sustainability Department will offer workshops in post-fire rebuilding, sustainability, fire-conscious landscaping and water use.
