Building Fire Resilient Homes and Communities: Innovations and Lessons from Australia

Tuesday, April 9, 2019

Presented by City of Malibu and TreePeople
First in the Resilient Malibu Workshop Series, residents can learn about best practices to increase fire-resilience for homes in high fire-risk areas. An Australian Emergency Management expert will share constructive lessons learned from the “Black Saturday Bushfires” of 2009, and present on building design and materials to increase fire safety and resiliency for homeowners starting post-fire rebuild.

  • This workshop will include an interactive Q&A session.
  • Please note that registrants’ email will be shared with nonprofit TreePeople.
Unlike other Resilient Malibu workshops, Australia’s unique experiences and solutions for climate change enhanced fire extremes will be highlighted.
