As part of the City of Malibu’s efforts to offer support and resources to residents impacted by the devastating Woolsey Fire, the Community Services Department has created a series of Resiliency Programs throughout the year to help strengthen the community and foster healing. The City of Malibu has launched a new dedicated webpage to feature these resources and events for the community at MalibuCity.org/ResiliencyPrograms.
Not all of the rebuilding of Malibu following the Woolsey Fire consists of bricks and concrete. Hearts and minds have to rebuild and heal as well. These programs include various workshops about dealing with trauma, incorporating innovative forms of therapy such as art, music, yoga, meditation, mental health and financial recovery. In addition, the Environmental Sustainability Department will offer workshops in post-fire rebuilding, sustainability, fire-conscious landscaping and water use.
