Malibu to Hold Teen Film Festival & Film-Making Workshops for Teens 

(Malibu, CA) – The Malibu Youth Commission celebrates the talent of aspiring young film makers in the community with the Malibu Teen Film Festival January 9, 2015, and a series of free film-making workshops starting this month. 

The Film Festival and the free film-making workshops are open to all students in grades 6-12 who are interested in film making.  The workshops will take place at the Malibu Civic Theater in Malibu City Hall, located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd., Malibu (Map: https://goo.gl/maps/lACUh) , on Saturday, September 20, Saturday, September 27, and Saturday, October 4, 10 :00 am – 1:00 pm. 

The workshops are designed to prepare students to submit their work to film festivals and gain deeper knowledge of film making, but are open to all students, regardless of whether they enter the Film Festival. 

The workshops will be led by working professional film makers who specialize in directing, cinematography, screen writing, editing, producing and scoring. 

The deadline to submit films for the Film Festival is December 8, 2014. The Festival submission form, submission guidelines, and the workshop registration form are on the City website at www.malibucity.org/teenfilmfestival. Students may also register for the workshops by calling 310-456-2489 ext. 350.
