CERT Basic Training

As part of its ongoing efforts toward community-wide preparedness, the City of Malibu is offering the next round of the highly popular Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training Course.

Spring 2026 CERT Training Course Registration
NOTE: When registering, you only need to register for the first class on the 24th in order to be registered for the series.

The free series of six classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Malibu City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, starting on February 24 through March 12, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, with the Course Review & Final Drill on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Learn how you to get your family, business, school or organization better prepared for wildfires and other disasters. The CERT Basic Training Course offers training in basic first aid, search and rescue, use of fire extinguisher, disaster psychology and more.

CERT Basic Training graduates have the opportunity to join Malibu CERT upon completing the required training. Joining the Team requires additional training to be completed to become an official member of Malibu CERT. If you have graduated from the Malibu CERT Training Course and would like information on how to join Malibu CERT, email PublicSafety@malibucity.org and a Public Safety staff member will reach out to you with more information.

  • Team Organization
  • Medical Class #1
  • Medical Class #2
  • Disaster Psychology
  • Fire Safety and Utility Controls
  • Light Search & Rescue Operations
  • Terrorism and CERT
  • Course Review & Disaster Simulation Drill
