The Homelessness Working Group (HWG), originally formed in February 2018 to provide input for development of the City's Strategic Plan on Homelessness, is comprised of a broad cross-section of community stakeholders, including:
- City staff
- Sheriff’s Department
- Malibu Public Safety Commission
- Malibu faith community
- The People Concern and its outreach workers
- Residents and representatives of the business community
- California State Parks
- Los Angeles County Library
- Local and regional homeless assistance agencies and organizations
- Office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl (3rd District)
HWG is not a Brown Act body. The members meet regularly to discuss issues and opportunities for addressing homelessness in Malibu, and to consider options for implementation of the Homelessness Strategic Plan goals.
