City of Malibu Rolls Out New Survey to Take the Pulse
of Community Stakeholders

(Malibu, CA) - As part of its ongoing commitment to improving community engagement and communication, the City rolled out a survey today seeking feedback on how Malibu stakeholders get information about and engage with the City. To take the survey, visit www.malibucity.org/survey.

“We strive to provide the best possible services and be responsive to the ideas, needs and concerns of all of Malibu’s stakeholders,” said Mayor John Sibert. “This short online survey will help us ensure we are communicating effectively with the people we serve, but it will only be useful if we have enough people participating. So I encourage everyone to take the survey.”

The City places a high priority of communicating effectively about the City policies, programs, goals, functions and services, and to listening and responding to the feedback and concerns of the community.

All Malibu stakeholders – anyone who resides, works, owns a business, attends school, or has significant ties to the community – are encouraged to take the short survey. In order to ensure that we are getting the feedback of Malibu stakeholders, participants must provide a Malibu street address and an email address.

The 19 multiple choice questions ask how Malibu stakeholders receive information about City policies, programs, actions and services; how they prefer to receive information; how well informed they feel; and whether they attend City meetings and events.

The survey also asks what subjects Malibu stakeholders would like to hear more about from the City, including emergencies, environmental issues, traffic, arts and culture, and City policies, services, events, actions.

The online survey will be initially conducted for 30 days. An announcement with the link to the survey will be distributed on Malibu’s Faceboook, Twitter and Instagram channels, Malibu’s City TV channel, www.malibucity.org, and sent out via the City’s e-notification system. Each person can only take the survey once. All personal information and answers will be kept strictly confidential. The City will release the results after the survey is completed.

Anyone who wishes to take the survey, but cannot access the internet or needs other assistance, is encouraged to contact Media Information Officer Matt Myerhoff at (310) 456-2489 x283 or mmyerhoff@malibucity.org.

The City of Malibu was incorporated on March 28, 1991. Located in Northwest Los Angeles County, the City has 21 miles of coastline along the Pacific Ocean and a population of 12,645.
