1. Who can obtain permits?

A property owner or a licensed contractor. An authorized agent may pull permits if either the property owner or licensed contractor provides the agent with a notarized letter of authorization. Owner/Builder Verification Form

3. When do issued permits expire?

Within 365 days after issuance, or if the work is suspended / abandoned for a period of 365 days after the time the work is commenced.

4. Are combination permits available from the City of Malibu?

No. Separate, individual permits are issued for building, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work.

5. Are permits needed for tile work or painting?
