[ARCHIVED] L.A. County Beaches Reopening Information

Beaches reopening Newsflash-06

Los Angeles County announced the first phase of planned beach re-openings with beaches in the County opening for active recreation only with public health protocols in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Malibu Pier and all beach parking lots in Malibu remain closed, and no-parking zones are enforced on some areas of PCH in Malibu.

Although the City does not control access to the state and county beaches in Malibu, the City wants to reassure the Malibu community that it is working with its partner agencies on messaging to the public about the importance of following all LA County Department of Public Health (LADPH) guidelines of physical distancing and other safety rules that the agencies have in place.

The City Manager has requested additional patrols of the Malibu area by the Sheriff’s Department. The City urges all out-of-area visitors to be mindful and respectful of the local community, and follow all LADPH protocols if they are out enjoying the beaches in the Malibu area.

Residents may report violations of public health and safety orders to the LADPH at 888-700-9995, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
