[ARCHIVED] City Staff are Monitoring Coronavirus and Providing Updates as Needed

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LADPH) is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to respond to the novel (new) coronavirus in the United States. City of Malibu staff are participating in regular conference calls with the LADPH to receive the latest updates and reviewing emergency procedures should an outbreak occur. The City is also implementing the recommended hygiene protocols in City Hall.

To see the current numbers of cases in the United States, spread of the virus, severity, treatments, precautions, and other important public health information, please visit the CDC website. For information on the virus in Los Angeles County, visit the LADPH website

The public is urged to remain vigilant and practice good hygiene and standard infection control procedures, including:

  • Washing hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds. Using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not on hand.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with your elbow or a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
