The City of Malibu Cultural Arts Commission put out a call for local artists to submit original work inspired by Malibu’s natural beauty, including flora, fauna and native habitats for the upcoming community art exhibition, “The Birds and the Bees, A Celebration of Spring in Malibu.” Local artists are encouraged to submit paintings, photography, sculptures, short films, written work, poetry, and other art by the call for artists deadline on Thursday, February 20, 2020.
Artists may submit applications and artwork images through the online at https://artcall.org. Those who have submitted artwork for the City’s previous exhibit, “Radical Beauty, Malibu Rising,” may use the same account. Artists are required to submit a separate application for multiple artwork submissions. “The Birds and the Bees, A Celebration of Spring in Malibu” art exhibition will be on display in Malibu City Hall through May 2020 and can be viewed during City Hall open hours, Mondays through Thursdays, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Fridays, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The opening reception will take place on Friday, March 20, 6:30 PM. City Hall is located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd., Malibu CA 90265.
