The changes that LA County has been implementing in its voting system will mean some changes for County voters in the upcoming 2020 Presidential Primary Election on March 3.
REGIONAL VOTE CENTERS OPEN FOR VOTING FEBRUARY 22, 2020
MULTIPLE DAYS TO VOTE - NO MORE POLLING LOCATIONS
New Regional Vote Centers will replace the traditional single polling location model that voters are accustomed to. There will be 250 Vote Centers across Los Angeles County that will be open for voting beginning February 22, 2020, increasing to 1,000 Vote Centers beginning February 29, 2020. Los Angeles County voters can register to vote and make their vote at any Vote Center in Los Angeles leading up to and including election day, March 3, 2020. That gives voters more time and flexibility to cast their vote, and to get registered if they are not already. Avoid the lines, and vote early! Find the nearest Vote Center online.
New Ballot Marking Device
Vote Centers will be equipped with new ballot marking devices to make voting easier. While the device is electronic, voters will still cast their vote on a paper ballot.
New Interactive Sample Ballot
Voters can access and mark their selections prior to arriving at the Vote Center. By using a computer, mobile phone, tablet or laptop, voters can review their ballot information and make their selections. After going through the selection process, the Interactive Sample Ballot creates a Poll Pass (QR code) like an airline boarding pass. At the Vote Center, voters can scan the Poll Pass to transfer their selections to the Ballot Marking Device. A review screen will display allowing voters a chance to make changes or cast their ballot.

New Ballot Order Change
The ballot order will now list local jurisdiction races first and federal contests last.
Vote by Mail
No change is being made to the Vote by Mail process; however, Vote by Mail voters can return their ballot to Los Angeles County: 1) by mail (postage is prepaid); 2) by dropping it off at a Vote Center; or 3) by dropping it off at a Vote by Mail drop-off site.
