The Malibu City Council dedicated the Anchor for Malibu sculpture at Legacy Park on July 25, 2019. The sculpture was donated to the City by Malibu resident, Dan Sandel in 2017.
The sculpture was created in 2004 by Israeli sculptor Emanuel Hatzofe at his studio in the Jaffa port neighborhood of Tel Aviv, Israel. Mr. Sandel visited Hatzofe’s studio in 2005 and purchased the sculpture for his home in Malibu. The sculpture weighs 3300-pounds and is six feet five inches tall, by four feet four inches wide, by two feet eight inches deep.
