[ARCHIVED] State Sponsored Woolsey Fire Debris Removal in Malibu Complete

Debris Removal Complete

CalOES has completed the initial Woolsey Fire debris removal under the state-sponsored program on all lots in the City of Malibu. Soil sampling, installation of erosion control measures and hydromulch on lots that have approved soil sample results, and re-scraping on properties where soil samples exceeded required levels will likely continue through the end of July.

The City continues to coordinate with LA County and assist more than 100 property owners who opted for the private Local Program with their debris removal process. The multi-agency effort has removed more than 838 million pounds of ash, debris, metal, concrete and contaminated soil in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

The press conference with CalRecycle and CalOES announcing the completion of fire debris removal is available to view online. An online dashboard is available showing fire debris removal progress in the entire Woolsey Fire area.

For information about fire debris removal or other Woolsey Fire rebuild information, visit the City rebuild website. For assistance with any part of the rebuilding process, call City Hall at 310-456-2489 or visit Mon-Thurs 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Fri 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
