[ARCHIVED] Homeless Count Numbers Released by LAHSA, Showing City Limits Only. Data Still Being Finalized.

Homeless Count

The results of the most recent count of people experiencing homelessness in Malibu conducted in January 2019 have been released by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA). In an effort to provide more detailed and relevant information to the City of Malibu, the 2019 data is based on the homeless population within City limits only, rather than the City plus the unincorporated area of Malibu, as in years past. LAHSA also revised the Malibu homeless count numbers from 2016, 2017 and 2018 on its website to reflect only the City limits. As a result, the numbers posted on the LAHSA website look very different from past years. LAHSA staff are still reviewing and refining the information so the numbers may continue to change for a few days. Once LAHSA informs the City that the data on Malibu is finalized, the City will publish the results.
