Caltrans will host a community outreach meeting at Malibu City Hall on Tuesday, March 26 at 5:30 PM to discuss its Pedestrian Signal Project at 25653 PCH in Malibu. The community can attend to learn more about project and ask questions from Caltrans representatives. The pedestrian hybrid signal would only be activated when a pedestrian pushes the button. It is proposed by Caltrans to increase safety for both pedestrians and motorists near Malibu Seafood at Corral Canyon Beach where pedestrians commonly cross PCH to access the beach. Caltrans is nearing completion of another project to install an improved protective median down the middle of PCH between Latigo Canyon Rd and Puerco Canyon Rd meant to increase safety for pedestrians and deter motorists from making illegal U-turns on PCH while pulling into and out of beach parking.
