[ARCHIVED] Deadline to Apply for CA State or Local Fire Debris Removal Programs is Jan. 31

Woolsey Newsflash-02

DEADLINES TO OPT-IN TO FIRE DEBRIS REMOVAL programs EXTENDED TO JAN. 31.

DEADLINE TO COMPLETE FIRE DEBRIS REMOVAL IS MARCH 15.

To date, only 40% of burned properties in Malibu have signed up for fire debris removal. The deadlines to opt-in to the state fire debris removal program, and to opt-out and sign up for the local debris removal program have been extended to January 31. The deadline to complete fire debris removal is March 15. If debris removal has not been completed by March 15, the state will remove the fire debris from the property at the owner’s expense (up to $100,000) and a lien will be placed on the property.
