[ARCHIVED] SCE Monitoring Conditions for Possible Public Safety Power Shutoff in Areas of Western Malibu

According to SCE, two circuits in western Malibu might be de-energized starting Thursday, November 8, late afternoon through Friday, November 9. That would impact areas from Zumirez Drive westward to the City border (excluding most of Point Dume), and about six miles inland into the mountain region north of Pacific Coast Highway.

The City is in contact with all partner agencies to coordinate preparations for possible power outages. The City will put out alerts by email and text message, and distribute information on the website, social media and to the local media as soon as it becomes available. Residents should be prepared for possible power outages.

SCE is directly notifying customers on the affected circuits about the potential shutoff.
