2023 Malibu Library Speaker Series Continues with Scott Freiman, an Expert on Music by The Beatles, SEPTEMBER 20

The 2023 Malibu Library Speaker Series continues Wednesday, September 20 with Scott Freiman, who will lead an in-depth discussion on The Beatles’ iconic album, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” The free event takes place at 7:00 PM at Malibu City Hall’s Civic Theater.

The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” is one of the most influential albums of all time. Rolling Stone magazine described it as the most important rock and roll album ever made, an unsurpassed adventure in concept, sound, songwriting, cover art, and studio technology by the greatest rock group of all time. In Deconstructing “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” Freiman looks at the album from multiple angles, exploring the history behind the music. He conducts an educational journey into the creative process of The Beatles performances and recording sessions.

Scott Freiman is a composer, musician, and software entrepreneur. He is the creator of “Deconstructing The Beatles,” a series of multimedia presentations about the composition and production techniques of The Beatles. He has presented his lectures to sold-out audiences throughout North America at theaters, museums and corporations and has been part of the Malibu Library Speaker Series twice. Freiman has lectured at colleges and universities and has taught a 13-part course at Yale University on The Beatles.
