North Santa Monica Bay Watershed Community meeting, hosted by the Safe Clean Water L.A. program, Thursday, September 23

Join us the first North Santa Monica Bay Watershed Community meeting on Thursday, September 23, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM via Zoom and learn about how we can source water locally and improve water quality together. Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86718557195, Meeting ID: 867 1855 7195. Or join by phone by dialing (669) 900-6833.

Community members will be able to connect with city and agency staff, local non-profits, First Nations people, local leadership and fellow community members to explore how all of us can envision safe, clean water in Los Angeles County.

The event will explore a Los Angeles County water quality improvement project in Viewridge Estates in Topanga Canyon. Watch a presentation about how the Topanga Trash Warriors are cleaning up Topanga Canyon, learn about two water quality projects at Liberty Canyon in Agoura Hills, and learn about restoration projects by the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains. Learn about how fog catchers (nets used to capture water droplets from fog and gravity to capture drinking water) are being explored as a possible water source in the Santa Monica Mountains.

Watershed Coordinator Melina Watts will lead a discussion about the Safe, Clean Water program how we can increase both regional and local water supply and improve water quality.
