CITY OF MALIBU TO HOST ITS SECOND FREE COVID-19 VACCINATION SITE AT CITY HALL ON JUNE 17

The City of Malibu and Kaiser Permanente will host a free COVID-19 vaccination event on Thursday, June 17, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Malibu City Hall. City Hall is located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Malibu CA, 90265. See a map and directions. No appointments are needed.

“I am proud that the City has been able to offer vaccination and testing events to help Malibu residents safely navigate this deadly pandemic,” said Mayor Paul Grisanti. “Our challenge now is to keep up the momentum and get everyone vaccinated so we can beat the pandemic and get back to hugging friends and family, enjoying social gatherings and resuming our lives.”

More than 50% of Los Angeles County has been fully vaccinated, and the rapidly improving case and hospitalization numbers are making it possible to reopen the county and state on June 15. That means masking and physical distancing requirements may soon be lifted for fully vaccinated people in certain settings.

While that is excellent progress, it could put unvaccinated people at greater risk. For individuals, getting vaccinated as soon as possible is the best way to protect yourself from COVID-19. To beat the pandemic, more people in Los Angeles County and across the nation need to get vaccinated. Los Angeles County has ample doses and there are numerous vaccination locations available across the region.

The event is being held on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. The vaccine is free regardless of immigration or health insurance status. Both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be offered.

Everyone 12 and older in the County is now eligible for vaccination. People between 12 and 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
