TAKE THE CLEAN POWER ALLIANCE SURVEY AND GIVE YOUR FEEDBACK ON POTENTIAL POWER RATE INCREASES
Clean Power Alliance (CPA), the City of Malibu’s not-for-profit community electricity provider, is conducting a survey to get community feedback from its customers about potential upcoming rate increases. Take the survey online at www.cleanpoweralliance.org/budgetfeedback2021.
CPA is conducting outreach to get feedback from and provide information to all its customers. Due to reduced supply and some market unrest as we enter the summer months, CPA’s energy costs are projected to increase significantly in the next budget year. While no decisions have been made yet, the CPA board is considering various ways to continue to maintain financial stability so they can continue to serve their communities. The survey results will be provided to the CPA Directors prior to the adoption of next fiscal year’s budget in June.
CPA was formed when communities like Malibu coordinated their electricity buying power to provide more clean power choices, including 100% Green Power, at competitive rates.
Programs available for those who need help paying utility bills include California Alternate Rates for Energy Program (CARE), and the Family Electric Rate Assistance Program (FERA), which provides monthly discounts on utility bills. The CPA Power Share program helps customers in need by providing 20% discounts to eligible residents. The state’s Arrearage Management Program (AMP) helps customers pay down their past due bills.
