Drive-In Movie Nights December 11 & 12 at Chili Cookoff Site cancelled due to badly rising covid-19 numbers and new stay at home order

The drive-in movie nights on December 11 and 12, sponsored by the City of Malibu and hosted by the Malibu Film Society, have been cancelled due to the Temporary Safer at Home Order implemented by the Los Angeles County Health Officer in response to continued, record-breaking increases in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths, and the region falling below the 15% of ICU availability as required by the State.

The Order, effective December 6, 2020 at 11:59 PM, states that residents should stay home as much as possible except for essential activities, prohibits all public and private, indoor or outdoor gatherings, closes some sectors including all in-person dining at restaurants and bars, and requires 100% masking and physical distancing. For more details, see the Order: http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/media/Coronavirus/docs/HOO/HOO_SaferatHome_SurgeResponse.pdf.. See all current coronavirus related health orders at www.MalibuCity.org/Coronavirus.

The City is committed to the collective efforts to fight the pandemic, help slow the spread of the coronavirus, and protect seniors and vulnerable people. We apologize for the inconvenience. The shows will be rescheduled when possible, and will be announced widely.
