The City of Malibu conducted its General Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, to fill three Councilmember seats.
Candidates for City Council
Following were the candidates for the April 8, 2008 General Municipal Election (in ballot order, as determined by the Secretary of State):
- Pamela Conley Ulich, Attorney/Adjunct Professor
- John Sibert, Technology Business Consultant
- Susan M. Tellem, Public Relations Executive
- Kathy Wisnicki, PH. D.
- Jefferson "Zuma Jay" Wagner, Business Owner
The measures voted upon at the election were as follows:
Shall an ordinance be adopted that 1) reduces the tax rate from 5% to 4.5%, 2) adds modern communication technologies to the activities taxed, 3) preserves the local telephone tax against charges in federal law, and 4) retains the existing exemptions for seniors?
Measure E (ADVISORY VOTE ONLY)
Should the Malibu City Council adopt an ordinance that would require the removal or trimming of landscaping in order to restore and maintain primary views from private homes?

These results are deemed official by the City Clerk and approved by the Malibu City Council by Resolution No. 08-19.
