The Los Angeles County Fire Department will give a presentation about brush clearance, and the California Department of Insurance will give a presentation on wildfire insurance issues, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM in the City Council Chambers. Public Safety Responders Appreciation Day
On May 22, the City Council declared June 10 as Public Safety Responders Appreciation Day in order to honor and thank police, fire, medical, volunteer and other personnel who are dedicated to serving our community. At the Public Safety Expo, community members are invited to write thank you messages to our responders in special appreciation books which will be presented to the leaders of each public safety organization.

Free Lunch - Free lunch will be provided from two food trucks (while supplies last), with a vegan option.

Earthquake simulator - Attendees can take a ride in an earthquake simulator that recreates a realistic and educational experience of a major earthquake inside a house, highlighting the need to make your home more earthquake safe.

Jaws of Life Demonstration - There will be a live demonstration of a vehicle extraction rescue using "The Jaws of Life."

Emergency Preparedness Supplies & Services Vendors - Numerous vendors will have emergency preparedness equipment and supplies for sale and demonstration.

Volunteer Opportunities & Specialty Teams & Vehicles - Attendees can learn about a variety of volunteer opportunities and see specialty emergency and law enforcement teams and vehicles such as K-9, Malibu Sherriff Search and Rescue, Fire Department trucks, and more.

The Expo is a great opportunity for kids to learn about emergency preparedness and meet public safety and law enforcement professionals in person. The Expo is also a great way to get started on, or to improve upon, your emergency preparedness plans and supplies.
