Earthquakes and earthquake preparedness - Monday, September 19, 3:30 pm senior center and Wednesday, September 28, 6:00 PM Zoom

Malibu is uniquely situated to be impacted by both local and distant earthquakes, so preparing now could lessen the impacts of earthquakes when they strike. Home Hardening Meets Curb Appeal - Wednesday, September 21, 4:00 PM Multipurpose Room and Thursday, September 28, 6:00 PM Zoom

During a wildfire, thousands of embers can rain down on your home and property like hail during a storm. If these embers land in receptive fuels or become lodged in something easily ignited on or near your house, the home may be in jeopardy of burning. Fire Safety Liaison Bradley Yocum is teaching a free informational class about how to harden the exterior while choosing plants and materials that are visually appealing. Pre-registration is required for the Zoom class please visit malibusafety.eventbrite.com, or directly for the class here.

Spanish Language Emergency Preparedness Training – Saturday, September 24, 9 – 11 am, Malibu Labor Exchange

The City is pleased to once again partner with the Malibu Foundation and Malibu Labor Exchange to provide free Spanish language emergency preparedness training as part of the City’s National Preparedness Month activities. Ensuring that non-English speaking people who live or work in Malibu have access to the City’s emergency information and emergency preparedness efforts is an important part of the City’s whole-community approach to emergency planning.
