The City of Malibu contracts with the County of Los Angeles for its public safety services:

Public Safety Town Hall Meetings
The City is holding a series of regularly scheduled town hall meetings to discuss public safety and emergency preparedness related issues. Topics may include wildfire, earthquakes, terrorist or active shooter incidents, storms and flooding.

Public Safety Town Hall - Incidents of Mass Violence - September 28, 2017
The next Public Safety Town Hall meeting takes place on Thursday, September 28 at 7:00 PM at City Hall, and will cover incidents of mass violence such as shootings or terrorist attacks. The meeting will discuss how to be prepared for and what to expect during such incidents, and how to report suspicious activity. Details will be posted.

Public Safety Town Hall - Fire Season Preparedness - July 19, 2017
The first Public Safety Town Hall took place on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 and covered fire season preparedness. Los Angeles County Fire, Sheriffs, and Animal Care and Control Departments, CHP and Red Cross gave presentations. Highlights of the meeting
and the presentations are available for download or printout.



#SafeSummer Public Awareness Campaign

As part of its efforts to raise awareness about important public safety issues in Malibu, the City has produced a series of summertime public safety messages that touch on traffic and PCH safety, beach safety, and fire preparedness, and all carry the hashtag #SafeSummer.

The City will be posting #SafeSummer messages all summer long on the main City Facebook and Twitter accounts, Instagram, and the Emergency Services Facebook and Twitter accounts. All of the #SafeSummer public safety tips and resources will also be posted on this page.
