Skylar Peak became the youngest person ever elected to the Malibu City Council when he took office in April 2012, and he was re-elected to a second term in November 2016. His term will expire in November 2020.
Councilmember Peak is a third-generation Malibu resident who has lived his entire life in the community, attending Malibu public schools, and graduating from Pepperdine University in 2006 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
Councilmember Peak is a lifelong surfer and environmentalist. He worked as a surfing and stand-up paddleboarding instructor before becoming an electrician and taking the reins of his family's Malibu-based business, Peak Power Electric.
Councilmember Peak serves as a Los Angeles County Fire Department Ocean Lifeguard, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Malibu Boys and Girls Club, and as a City of Malibu Parks and Recreation Commissioner.
Skylar, his wife Janet, and children Theo, Uma, and Dusty are happy to be part of this special community.
