VIDEO: Fire Safety Liaisons Bradley Yocum, Gabriel Etcheverry and Jerry Vandermeulen discuss how to join or start community-based Firewise and Firesafe groups that enable neighbors to share resources, fund neighborhood brush clearance, make neighborhood-based evacuation plans and more. They cover how to understand and track local fire weather conditions such as wind, humidity and fuel moisture. The presentation also looks at ways to protect your house and property from the millions of burning embers that are a leading cause of homes burning down in wind-driven wildfires, using plants and materials that are both fire resistant and beautiful. PRESENTATION ON THE CITY'S PREPARATIONS FOR WILDFIRE SEASON
VIDEO: LA County Fire Department Assistant Chief Drew Smith and Captain Jennifer Seetoo, commanding officer of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station gave a presentation to the City Council about the Fire and Sheriff's Departments actions to be prepared for wildfire season, on September 25.
