The Los Angeles County Fire Department's Fire Prevention office issues permits for professional fireworks displays to be launched from barges off the Malibu coast. One permit has been issued for a display in the vicinity offshore from Malibu Colony.

Displays are scheduled to begin at approximately 9:00 PM in compliance with Malibu Municipal Code Section 9.36.010: "Fireworks shall commence no earlier than sunset and conclude by 10:00 PM."

Residents and visitors are reminded that fireworks of any kind are strictly prohibited within the Malibu city limits. Any resident who observes illegal fireworks activity is urged to immediately report the location to the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff's Station by calling 310-456-6652 or 818-878-1808.

Holiday Hours at Malibu City Parks and Facilities - Saturday through Monday, July 3-5, 2021

The City of Malibu invites its residents and visitors to spend their holidays at any one of the local parks. All City parks are open from 8:00 AM to sunset. Special holiday hours for City facilities for the 4th of July weekend are:

Malibu City Hall

Closed Monday, July 5

MALIBU SENIOR CENTER

Closed

City Parks - Malibu Bluffs Park, Las Flores Creek Park, Trancas Canyon Park, and Legacy Park

Open 8:00 AM to sunset

Temporary Skate Park

Open 8:00 AM to sunset. All skaters must wear a helmet while using the park. Reservations are no longer required. Additional information at MalibuCity.org/SkatePark.

Malibu Community Pool

Open Saturday, July 3, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Drop-in lap swim is available at 9:00 AM and 2:30 PM. Lanes for lap swimmers will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are no longer required. Additional information at MalibuCity.org/Aquatics..

Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD) Campuses
