New STATE Stay at Home Order for los angeles county and other socal counties for three weeks if they fall below 15% ICU availability
California Governor Newsom announced on December 3 the State is issuing a Regional Stay Home Order that will go into effect within 48 hours in regions with less than 15% ICU availability. It prohibits private gatherings of any size, closes sector operations except for critical infrastructure and retail, and requires 100% masking and physical distancing in all others. (CORRECTION: This message earlier stated that the order starts December 5, but it would start 48 hrs after the County falling below 15% ICU availability. We apologize for any confusion.)
The order will apply to most of Southern California, including Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange Counties.
The order will remain in effect for at least three weeks and, after that period, will be lifted when a region’s projected ICU capacity meets or exceeds 15%. This will be assessed on a weekly basis after the initial three-week period.
