The City will hold a Community Fire Season Briefing to keep the community up to date on the outlook for the upcoming peak fire season. The peak fire season generally begins in the fall with the onset of hot, dry, powerful Santa Ana winds that create extremely dangerous wildfire conditions and often result in Red Flag warnings. Los Angeles County Fire Department Battalion Chief Drew Smith, a Fire Behavior Analyst, will provide information on local fuel moisture, expected weather patterns, and what that means for Malibu.
