SENIORS & RESTAURANTS CAN SIGN UP TO PARTICIPATE IN “GREAT PLATES DELIVERED” MEALS DELIVERY PROGRAM FOR ISOLATED SENIORS
On April 24, Governor Newsom announced a partnership between the State of California and FEMA to reimburse local restaurants for preparing nutritional meals for seniors who are socially isolated and unable to cook their own meals. The Great Plates Delivered program (formerly Restaurants Deliver: Home Meals for Seniors) calls for preparation of three meals per day, seven days a week. The plan, which will be administered locally by the County of Los Angeles, will help the restaurant community get back to work, while also generating sales tax revenues to boost local economies. https://covid19.ca.gov/restaurants-deliver-home-meals-for-seniors/
