Full & 1-lane closures on Decker Rd from PCH to mile 2.6 in Malibu for Caltrans slope work, October 30 - mid December, weekdays 7AM-4PM.

The Caltrans will have full and one-lane closures on Decker Road from PCH mile 2.6 in Malibu to install steel mesh netting on hillsides to prevent rocks and debris from falling on the roadway starting Oct. 30. Signs will be posted. The first phase requires full closure of the curvy two-lane road to allow a large crane to lift the netting. Slope repair work has been ongoing in preparation for the winter storm season. The rock netting is another layer of protection designed to prevent rain-related slides that could shut down sections of the road and be a potential hazard. Work is expected to be completed in December. Work hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday. Full lane closures in both directions for 6 days (nonconsecutive). One lane closure with alternating traffic for 40 days. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes, and check http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ for real-time traffic information. Neighbors may experience noise, vibrations and dust associated with the work.
