All non-essential City programs & Events have been canceled until
April 30 as a Coronavirus precaution. This includes all City of Malibu Community Services Department Programs, Rentals, Sports Leagues, and Special Events. Please visit the Virtual Recreation Center for recreation program livestreams and activities to do at home.
“There is no cause for panic and I understand the inconvenience that this presents, but the City’s number one priority is protecting public safety,” said Mayor Karen Farrer. “We must do everything possible to be prepared, follow public health officials’ recommended precautions to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, and protect our vulnerable populations.”
The City’s Dial-A-Ride program will continue to operate, and Dial-A-Ride vehicles are regularly disinfected.
The Senior Center will remain closed until further notice. However, staff will still be available to assist any seniors in the community that need assistance. For assistance, call the Senior Center at 310-456-2489 ext. 357.

A Water Polo Team Meeting for parents will be held on Wednesday, February 19, at 5:00 PM in Malibu High School, Room 723 (behind Pool).
Games are played on Saturdays in Ventura County. The Malibu Youth Water Polo Foundation has partnered with South Coast Aquatics. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in common practices hosted by South Coast Aquatics and join tournament teams. Players must be a member of USA Water Polo. Annual fees are paid online by registering on the USA Water Polo website.
MALIBU SEAWOLVES SWIM TEAM
The City partners with the Malibu Aquatics Foundation and Malibu Seawolves Swim Team to offer a youth swim program in Malibu for Ages 5-18. New participants to the program need to be evaluated by the director to ensure proper placement. Malibu Seawolves accepts new team members anytime during the quarter, and fees are pro-rated according to start date. For a detailed schedule or questions, visit the Seawolves website.

A Junior Guard Program will be offered February-April for participants who have not participated in Junior Lifeguards and are looking to pass the swim test for enrollment. Participants must by 9 years old by July 1, 2020. Swimmers will be assigned to a Malibu Seawolves Swim Group based on their ability and will have the opportunity to swim 5-6 days per week to work on their freestyle stroke. Registration is $225 per 4 weeks.
A Swim Conditioning Program will be offered during the Winter Quarter for athletes who will not be competing in swim meets. Athletes will be placed in a Malibu Seawolves swim group (Blue or Green) and have the opportunity to train up to 3 days per week. Participants must exceed the graduating swim skill level requirements from the Sealions group to be eligible. Placement will be determined by an evaluation with a Malibu Aquatics Foundation Coach. USA Swimming membership required.
Dive into aqua aerobics to build cardiovascular fitness and strength. Aqua aerobics is a blend of cardio fitness and resistance training that incorporates equipment, such as buoyant water weights. Due to the low-impact format, aqua aerobics is suitable for all ages and fitness abilities.
The next session of Aqua Aerobics will resume in Summer 2020.

The Malibu Aquatics Foundation offers the Masters Program, a swimming program for Ages 18+ designed for all skill levels of swimmers who want to use swimming as a great way to get or stay in shape. Members of the community can join workouts to prepare for fitness events, triathlons, or for general conditioning.
