Library Speaker Series Presents Anne Lamott

The City of Malibu is partnering with County of Los Angeles Public Library to offer a speaker series in Malibu.The series, which is free and open to the public, features an array of renowned authors and public speakers who will expose their audiences to some of the greatest thoughts, insights and influential minds of our time.

The Malibu Speaker Series began with two, well-received speakers: Garth Stein, author of The Art of Racing in the Rain, and Kerry Max Cook, author of Chasing Justice: My Story of Freeing Myself After Two Decades on Death Row for a Crime I Didn't Commit.

The next event, scheduled on Thursday, May 16, in the Civic Theater at City Hall will feature Anne Lamott, author of Some Assembly Required, A Journal of My Son's First Son. Known for her self-depracating humor, Ms. Lamott is also an acclaimed teacher, public speaker and progressive political activist.

Future events include the much-anticipated author of Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert,on June 23.
