City Attorney Christi Hogin Ranked as One of State's Top Municipal Lawyers

Malibu City Attorney Christi Hogin was named one of the top 25 municipal lawyers in California by the Daily Journal, the largest newspaper serving the legal profession and covering the California courts. This is the second year that the Daily Journal has conferred this honor and named Hogin among the top practitioners both years.

"Malibu demands much of Christi and she consistently delivers," said Mayor Lou La Monte. "She gives us thoughtful advice; she's creative when we need her to be; and she is an effective advocate in court and before other agencies. The Daily Journal has not told us anything we did not already know about Christi: she is among the very best."

Hogin was part of the legal team that represented the newly incorporated City in 1991, first serving as Assistant City Attorney and later in 1994 taking over as City Attorney. She has also been named a SuperLawyer™ by her peers seven times, including for 2012.

In addition to serving as Malibu City Attorney and her practice of municipal law, Hogin serves as the chair of the Coastal Cities Caucus of the City Attorneys Department of the League of California Cities. She is also the chair of the Board of Editors for the CEB Publication Municipal Law Handbook. She is a frequent public speaker and a number of her papers on various topics of municipal law can be found on her firm's website www.LocalGovLaw.com. This year, Hogin's law partner and husband Michael Jenkins was also named among the top 25 municipal lawyers.
