Trancas Field encompasses approximately 35 acres of undeveloped space located on Trancas Canyon Rd and Pacific Coast Hwy (PCH). 

Background and Schedule 

The City Council approved the purchase of Trancas Field on August 8, 2016, and will acquire the property in October 2016. The Council tasked the Parks and Recreation Commission to develop a plan for community discussion about the best use of Trancas Field. The Commission will hold a series of workshops and focus groups for the public through November 2016. Once all the data has been gathered from the public, it will be presented to the City Council to determine the next step of the project. 

Community Outreach  
The City will be gathering community input on how the site would best suit the needs of the Malibu community. Data from the Parks and Recreation Department Master Plan Needs Assessment, along with the Trancas Field community-wide questionnaire, community workshops, and focus groups, will all be assessed when analyzing options for the site. All of the methods are being used to ensure active public participation in addressing priorities, issues, and concerns associated with the project.
