Marine Life Protection
The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA),the lead federal agency that enforces the Marine Mammal Protection Act and Endangered Species Act, advises that it is each individual's responsibility to help ensure the safety and protection of our local marine life.

If anyone observes a marine animal that is in danger due to distress or abuse, please report the issue to the NOAA Hotline at 800-853-1964.

NOAAs National Marine Fisheries Service stationed out of Long Beach states that some of the issues NOAA would enforce or investigate in the Malibu area would include shooting of sea lions, harassment of whales and dolphins, and stream issues that are inhabited by federally protected steelhead trout.
