General Fund Grant Program
Program Overview
The General Fund Grant Program provides funding to non-profit organizations located within the City of Malibu that benefit residents of the community.
Applications submitted are reviewed by the City Council Administration and Finance Subcommittee in mid-Spring. The Subcommittee makes recommendations to the City Council for award during the annual budget approval process each June.
2026 - 2027 General Fund Grant Program
The 2026-2027 General Fund Grant program provides funding to non-profit organizations located within the City of Malibu benefiting residents of the community. To be considered for funding, a complete application must be submitted, including required attachments.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION: The following information is required of all applicants; missing documents will create a partial application. Partial applications will not be advanced.
- Application including narrative and budget (digital form)
- Most recent financial statement for latest year
- Current Board of Directors list
- Organizational Chart (a diagram that shows the structure of the organization) Brochure, flyer or other promotional material(s)
- Verification and documentation of Internal Revenue Service nonprofit status under Title 26, Section 501 (c)(3) of the Federal Code
- W9
- Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws
REVIEW PROCESS: Applications will be reviewed by the Administration and Finance Subcommittee of the City Council in May, with City Council approval scheduled in conjunction with the budget adoption in June. Grant funding will be released in July. Applications not in compliance with City of Malibu General Fund Grant guidelines as stated here are not eligible for consideration.
Applications and all supporting materials must be received by 5:30 PM on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
