Ribbon Cutting for New Bus Shelters in Malibu

Wednesday, June 28

The City of Malibu will hold a public ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of three new bus shelters as part of a pilot program to make existing Metro bus stops in Malibu safer and more user-friendly for public transit users, on Wednesday, June 28, 10:00 AM.

The project included building new bus shelters on Cross Creek Road, on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) at Heathercliff Road in the Point Dume area, and on Trancas Canyon Road at PCH in western Malibu, replacing existing bench-only bus stops at the City’s three highest-volume transit stops. The new bus shelters increase the visibility of the transit system and transit riders, provide transit riders protection from the elements, and serve as a pilot program for possible improvements to the rest of the Metro transit stops in Malibu.

The Mayor, City Councilmembers and City Commissioners will be joined by representatives of area elected officials, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), and local businesses.

The public is welcome to attend the ribbon cutting, which will be held on Cross Creek Road in front of the Malibu Country Mart shopping center (3835 Cross Creek Rd., Malibu, CA 90265) in the Civic Center area.
